Kenneth Ma and Big Chested Him to go topless
TVB's Kenneth Ma attended a MediLink promotion event in his doctor image from the new series The Hippocratic Crush. During the event, Kenneth failed when trying to perform a magic trick, creating a funny scene. Acting as the spokesperson for a medical clinic, Kenneth hopes to use his doctor image to land more advertising jobs and thus make more money. When speaking of the ratings of the new series, Kenneth says "The content is very meaningful, hopefully ratings will reach 36 points! But will need Him Law to expose more skin!" He jokingly says that he might join Big Chested Him and go topless together to celebrate good ratings. Kenneth jokes that he's not afraid of comparison, as Him is known to be the muscular type, while he is more the "steel bar" (lean) type!

Kenneth Ma at The Hippocratic Crush promotional event
Tavia Yeung, Him Law, Kenneth Ma and Mandy Wong attended TVB series The Hippocratic Crush promotional event yesterday. It was announced at the event that last week the series averaged at 30 points and peaked at 33 points.
...
As for Kenneth Ma, earlier he exposed his previous relationship with Nancy Wu. Nancy was displeased by the exposure and blamed him for trying to get publicity. Kenneth explained: "She probably said it in a joking way. (Did you ask her prior to exposing?) Yes, because the public said she's greedy for fortunes and has 'princess illness', so I wanted to help her clarify. Also, we are still friends now. (What is the reason to the break up?) I already explained, not going to talk about it anymore! I don't want to her to say I'm trying to get publicity again."

Kenneth Ma Admits Visiting Pornography Sites; A Little Sex And Lots of Humor?
Recently ascending to “First Diamond Bachelor in TVB City,” Kenneth Ma (馬國明) displayed his love and loyalty while discussing his short romance with Nancy Wu (胡定欣). After former lovers split up, there was no need to accuse each other to gain [the public's] sympathy. Despite frequent negative press accusations against Nancy, Kenneth continued to protect her. Kenneth stated, “I have dated Nancy Wu. However, we broke up in less than one year. I have to emphasize that she did not move to Tai Koo City specifically for me. At the time, we were not dating yet…. It’s difficult to say who had pursued whom. After collaborating together for some time, there were feelings and thus we got together. Our breakup was not due to the rumor that Nancy possessed a ‘princess attitude’ upsetting me! The truth is that I am a very boring person and we were not happy while together. Naturally we broke up, but we are still good friends!”
Recently, TVB rejected three mainland China filming offers for Kenneth, based on the reason that there were scheduling conflicts. A conservative estimate projected that Kenneth lost $3 million Yuan due to the missed opportunities. Despite this, Kenneth was still loyal to TVB at this moment. “Witnessing other artists earn a lot of money while filming in mainland China, I would be lying if I said that I was not envious! However, the timing truly did not work, so there is nothing that can be done…. Without TVB, then there is no Kenneth Ma! I can only hope that there will be future opportunities to film in China!” Asked whether he was dissatisfied with TVB, Kenneth did not respond directly, thus the reporter did not make any speculations.
If A Man Is Not Bad, A Woman Will Not Love Him
Many youths possessed the love perspective, “If a man is not bad, a woman will not love him.” However, pertaining to Kenneth Ma, the correct saying would be, “If a man is not bad, a woman will love him the most!”
In the blink of an eye, Kenneth has been the industry for 12 years, growing from an extra to a first-line actor at TVB. Kenneth’s transformation over the last 12 years has been quite dramatic. At the beginning of his career, Kenneth was quite wooden in his interviews; when asked two questions, he will only respond to one question. Currently, when asked one question, Kenneth will respond to three questions.
Kenneth stated, “Over the last few years, I have found my way. For some time, I felt very lost, as if I can no longer improve! Especially in recent years, I was either the male lead or supporting actor; what does this mean? It appears as if there was no more space for advancement, while I did not earn that much money and my acting did not improve much. What should I do? Do I set myself aside and do not care? Should I take any filming offers that come my way and establish money as my top priority?
“It was not until I saw Death Does Not Separate Three Brothers which opened my eyes. There is no need to make life so complex. I consistently asked myself whether to pick between acting and money…. In the end, I chose acting because I truly love it. There is no need to think too much! Money…I do not earn much, but you can say it is not terrible compared to some, while not too much compared to others. Then I should focus on just doing my best!”
A Learning Experience
In The Hippocratic Crush "On Call 36小時", Kenneth portrayed an idealistic doctor, Cheung Yat Kin. Unfortunately, reality challenged his ideals; fortunately he was able to gather his inner strength to remain a compassionate doctor. Kenneth noted that he gained enormously from filming The Hippocratic Crush, including a different perspective adding to his acting experience.
“I have to thank the production crew of The Hippocratic Crush for researching the medical facts well. In the past, I have portrayed a doctor, but only as an extra, in which my line was, ‘Sorry, we have tried our best!’ This time in The Hippocratic Crush, I was a true doctor, which required memorizing the dialogue and medical jargon carefully. There was no room for mistakes, especially in the operating room scenes where real doctors on site observing the filming process. Many lines were required to be changed on the spot, resulting in the need for them to be re-memorized. This challenged my adaptive skills. Through filming The Hippocratic Crush, I learned many medical facts that I did not know before. Now, I can verbally describe the procedures for a brain examination, but only through words of course!
“One of the most memorable scenes in The Hippocratic Crush involved the death of my younger brother. I was required to cry emotionally, but I am not someone who cries easily. Although my first take passed, I was not satisfied with the results and suggested that the director film the scene again. I sat in a corner to build up my emotions. The director and Tavia Yeung (楊怡) started talking about many unhappy events with me. In the end, I was able to cry uninhibitedly. The producer ultimately used this take. This was a new experience for my acting.”
Enjoys Cameo Performances
Prior to the interview, the reporter researched netizen’s opinions regarding Kenneth Ma. Compared to other first-line actors, Kenneth performed in many cameo roles. Some netizens speculated that he lacked ambition, while others thought that portraying too many cameo roles will impact his first-line status. For Kenneth, the opportunity to perform was more critical, even if it only involved a singular scene where he just walked by the camera.
“In my first cameo performance, I was in the next studio room waiting for my turn to film. While waiting listlessly, I saw a director that I knew well and walked over to watch the filming process and learn something. They were filming a courtroom scene and the extra assigned for the lawyer role could not meet the director’s requirements. Since my makeup was intact, I suggested that I perform the part, which only required two lines. The director was stunned and immediately changed the role to match my character name in Survivor’s Law II "律政新人王II". The next day when Producer Lam Chi Wah (林志華) saw the footage, he was shocked…. I never minded portraying cameo roles, which are actually quite fun!”
Kenneth Ma was already a first-line actor, generating hot discussions through past performances in Survivor’s Law II and A Fistful of Stances "鐵馬尋橋". However, in comparison, Kenneth’s roles did not leave a deep impression compared to “Laughing Gor” and “Law Ba.” Kenneth replied, “Many people have pointed this out! A good role is hoped for, but difficult to come across. I can only do my best for each role! Many people feel as if I do not have any expectations and do not fight for opportunities for myself. When I come across producers I know at TVB City, I will ask them if there are any suitable characters for me to play during our conversations. I do want that opportunity…but if you were to ask me to knock on the producers’ doors and take such initiatives, then I cannot do it!”
Friends After Parting
Since Moses Chan (陳豪) was consumed by Aimee Chan (陳茵媺) after they started dating, there were fewer “diamond bachelors” left in the entertainment industry. Known as a good man, Kenneth Ma became the “top target” among many actresses. However, Kenneth was unwilling to discuss his love life in the past. Regarding his love life prior to entering the industry, Kenneth was also tight-lipped. Last year, Kenneth and Nancy Wu’s romance was a hot topic; the pair broke up, reconciled, and broke up again. Despite the rumors, Kenneth did not admit the relationship for a long time.
When the reporter asked Kenneth bluntly about dating Nancy, he admitted that he had dated Nancy for less than a year, but the pair had separated due to incompatible personalities. Kenneth continued, “For some time, I truly yearned to date! In recent years, this feeling became less strong. You know how boring I am; I do not like to go outside and socialize. When there is no work, I can stay home for many days. So it does not matter whether I date or not.
“I possess even less urges to get married! My parents did not give me pressure in this aspect, since they are busy taking care of my elder sister’s two kids. As for being referred to as a ‘diamond bachelor’…I do not agree with the nickname. There are no women flocking to my side! It is best to let love matters run their natural course. At this time, earning money should be the priority.”
The Web Is Useful For Pornography
During the photograph session, the reporter and Kenneth Ma had the following exchange:
R= Reporter; K= Kenneth
R= Please get an iPhone and install WhatsApp! Every time, I have to send you a text message!
K= I have no time to do that!
R= You do not have WhatsApp, Facebook, or even a Weibo blog. You only have a TVB blog; how boring you are!
K= That’s how boring I am! For me, a computer is only useful for reading the news, sports news, and pornography!”
R= You are flaunting that you visit pornography sites! Do you believe that I will include this in the published article?
K= Go ahead and write it! I am so old already; even if I claim that I have never visited a pornography site, you will not believe me…ha ha!
A current first-line actor admitting that he visited pornography sites, of course it was more in a joking than serious manner! Regarded by the public as a good man and a “wooden log” in the past, Kenneth surprisingly knew how to incorporate a little sex and lots of humor in his jokes. It was indeed a rarity. Whether the joke was funny or not was dependent upon perspective. However, the current Kenneth Ma was extremely adorable!

Kenneth Ma and Nancy Wu: “We Are Ex-Lovers!”
Despite numerous romantic rumors in the past, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and Nancy Wu (胡定欣) have never publicly admitted their relationship. In an effort to clarify rumors that Nancy possessed a “princess attitude” and dumped Kenneth due to her monetary greed, Kenneth revealed that the pair were once ex-lovers and the reason for their break up!
Often internalizing his personal matters, Kenneth rarely discussed his love life. In a recent radio interview, Kenneth revealed that he and Nancy had dated after performing in Strictly Come Dancing "舞動奇跡" in 2010. Noting that they broke up due to personality differences, Kenneth stated, “We are not too compatible in our personalities.” (She is too aggressive?) “I am a person who is satisfied with the status quo. Perhaps the timing was off. We broke up peacefully and are still friends right now. I am admitting this relationship because I want to clarify that Nancy does not possess a ‘princess attitude.’ I did not dump her! She is a very good girl. We continue to meet for dinner; it will not be surprising if you chance upon us meeting [in the future] because we are still a rumored couple! Ha ha! (Will you reconcile with each other?) “I do not know what will happen in the future!” (Despite you clarifying Nancy’s reputation, she said she was upset at you!) “Then I will not talk about it next time!”
Not Awkward In Seeing Each Other
Rumored “ex-lovers” Kenneth and Nancy appeared one after the other at the TVB makeup studio. Asked about her past relationship with Kenneth, she laughed, “Since he brought up the subject, let him discuss it!” (Do you feel awkward when you see each other?) “No, we are friends.” (You dated for one year?) “Your questions are too sudden! Personal matters will be dealt with privately; I am the type of person who wishes to reveal [a relationship] publicly when it is time for marriage!”
Asked whether Kenneth had withheld their dating secret for a long time before revealing their relationship, Nancy said, “Ha ha…I suspect that he is using me for publicity! His new drama, The Hippocratic Crush "On Call 36 小時", received very high ratings!” (Are you upset?) “Yes! He’s using me for promotion!”

Kenneth Ma admits he dated Nancy Wu before
TVB medical drama The Hippocratic Crush premiered last week, with a peak rating of 31 points. Kenneth Ma (Ma Ming) rises and becomes TVB's first line Siu Sang. Riding on the momentum, Kenneth said he wants the dough and not the love: "I want more endorsements and stage work. I even hope to shoot some series in Mainland to earn some extra money. The faster the better." Well that's true too, he's a famous and single man that many are after. Just as long as you have the chips, there is no fear you won't find a wife.
Its no surprise, the 38 year old middle-aged Kenneth is desperate to break away from 'poverty'. In 2007, Kenneth still used the subway as means of transportation. It wasn't until 2008 when he finally got himself a car valued at HK$300,000 Comparing the fame and fortune, Kenneth still lags behind other TVB Siu Sangs such as Kevin Cheng or Moses Chan. Fortunately, Kenneth's first series The Hippocratic Crush, in which he takes the lead, has been well acclaimed. Today, Kenneth stepped foot on the most crowded areas in Central's Time Square to do a practical research on audience' reactions. As a result, it wasn't even 5 minutes yet and he was already surrounded by a group of See Lai (housewives) and female students. One See Lai couldn't help but shout: "Handsome Kenneth Ma! You did so well in your series!" Then it was Kenneth's turn to feel happy, he said softly: "And I was worried no one would care!"
Borrowing the Series to Honor Doctors
First time taking the lead in a series, Kenneth is very anxious on how audience would react: "Three days after the series broadcast, I already had people calling me 'Yat Kin Tau'. Netizens are actively discussing online and even Doctors are discussing whether or not they have been scolded that severely by supervisors when they were interns? To me, I don't have much pressure on the TV ratings. I just want to share my satisfaction of the filming process. Although I don't know how to do the actual hands-on work, but I know how to describe the neurosurgery procedures. The production of this series was very serious. In every scene in the surgery rooms, there were always two advisory doctors directing us in the room. Many of the equipment were also provided by those two doctors. I hope to borrow this series and show my respect to all medical staff. In fact, it really is stressful and difficult being a doctor, it's like a mission. (What type of hopes do you have?) Honestly speaking, of course I hope to gain fame and fortunes. I hope to grasp Dr. Cheung's upright image and get more endorsements and stage work jobs. It would be best to have an opportunity to shoot a Mainland drama, so I can earn some extra money. I currently set a two year plan to purchase a property in Hong Kong Island East, a 1,000 square feet property that a family of 7 can live in. The budget is approximately 10 million, so I will really have to put in my greatest effort in earning money."
Oppressive Personality, Not Reason of Breakup
Is Kenneth a lot like Dr. Cheung Yat Kin (his role), he only cares about his career and not his love life? "I am not as generous as Dr. Cheung, he just has to support his disabled brother to study abroad, so he's charging up forward with all his efforts. As for myself, it's not that I don't date, it is just I haven't met the right one. Especially as I get older, it becomes more and more difficult. I admit I do have a personality issue. The most miserable is not boredom, I don't mind living a single life, and also my life circle is quite narrow. I'm in the filming studio day and night, how can I find someone? It's even harder to meet people outside of the industry. Initially Mandy Wong and Selena Li promised they'll introduce women to me, but it was just all talk. Honestly, it's hard for us to meet, let alone date? Oh just forget it! I'll just leave relationships to fate. In 2000, when I graduated from the 14th TVB Acting Class, I had 18 other classmates and today, only two stayed and I was the only one that made it on the front line, so I really have to cherish every rare opportunity that comes before me."
Kenneth and Moses Chan are known as the TVB Siu Sangs that don't 'mess with girls'. Over the years, Kenneth rarely had rumors, his only two rumored girlfriends were Margie Tsang and Nancy Wu. Now are these rumors true or false? Kenneth frankly said: "Nancy and I dated before, and broke up last year. It wasn't because she thought I was boring, just our personalities don't match. On the contrary, Margie and I, personality wise, we click very well. Every time we meet we would chat nonstop. However, we have never dated before. (Any chance to develop a relationship?) I don't know, she is just a friend that I have known for many years."

Selena Li Reveals Being Secretly Admired by Kenneth Ma
Yesterday, previously rumoured TVB artistes Selena Li and Kenneth Ma attended a mall event. The pair did not avoid flirting with each other. Selena sang Joey Yung's song "Chihuahua"; apart from going on stage and giving flowers, he also imitated a chihuahua, making her happy! When Selena was being interviewed, she also revealed that she knew that Kenneth has had a crush on her for six or seven years...a thought-provoking relationship. Selena said, "I have a lot of fate with him. Our birthdays are only one day apart. On my birthday, I sent him a text message, telling him that I was having a birthday party at my house, but he didn't reply". At this time, the embarrassed Kenneth, who was beside her, immediately said, "I was working that day, so didn't reply".
When talking about withdrawing [her] shares from [her] makeup company because of TVB's pressure, Selena explained that that was not the case, and she also spoke kind words: "TVB always gives me good roles. I weighed the matter carefully before deciding to withdraw [my] shares". Previously, the makeup school was involved in some money matters; however, Selena emphasized that the share withdrawal was not for the sake of playing it safe.
Plans to Withdraw Shares from Makeup School, Selena Li Denies Being Pressured
Yesterday, as a rumoured couple partnership, Kenneth Ma and Selena Li attended a prize draw event. The two were very immersed on stage. When Selena was singing, Kenneth gave flowers and imitated the chihuahua in the song...extremely harmonious.
However, when reporters laughed at them for being a rumoured couple partnership, Selena immediately and said that Kenneth has already had a crush on her for six or seven years, but when she took the initiative to leave a message for him on her birthday, [she] did not receive a reply; Kenneth embarrassingly explained that [he] was working throughout the night that day. Selena expressed that their birthdays are only one day apart (with her birthday being on February 12th, while Kenneth's birthday was a day later than hers), but said that they truly never started a relationship before, and also know that he is popular among the opposite sex; however, Kenneth laughingly said, "No, I also eat lemons. Everyone says that he or she will introduce girls to me, but didn't in the end".
When talking about reports regarding the beauty school in which Selena has an investment in having complaints about money deception, and that TVB has been pressuring Selena to withdraw [her] shares so that it would not affect her image, Selena expressed that she is indeed planning to withdraw [her] shares. However, [she] emphasized that TVB has never pressured her; she only feels that the company has given her many performing opportunities. On the other hand, she hasn't gone to the school for half a year; to avoid falling between two stools, decided to withdraw shares. When asked whether this brought loss, she said, "In the first year, I already made profit. Will now hand over the shares to a suitable makeup artist...hope that this will cause the school to improve even more".
As for it being said that Kenneth's new series "The Hippocratic Crush" has plagiarized TVB's old storylines, he expressed that he didn't take notice...only know that the first day had 29 points, which is considered to be not bad, and heard that the online feedback is also not bad. He believes that the said plagiarism should not be the surgical scenes, as there were two consulting physicians helping on the side during filming...were filmed according to reality.
